    Marshmallow Laser Feast, are creating an immersive experience for Bradford, which is 2025’s City of Culture. It’s a playful exploration of the invisible rhythms that underpin life on Earth, and it has Bradford running through its DNA – taking inspiration from Born in Bradford, a major research programme that’s been tracking the lives of more than 40,000 people across the district since 2007. 

     

    Discover how everything in our universe can be traced back to the same cosmic explosion and see how the Big Bang wasn’t just a one-time thing – it’s still banging, right here in Bradford. MLF will show how all of us aren’t just in the universe – we are the universe, continuing its story with every breath we take.

    A multisensory installation that brings the public to the lush presence of the Lupuna tree through two spaces. The audience is invited to step through a waterfall into a sensorial experience where a tropical downpour saturates the senses through spacial audio, light and rain machines.

    Work: Seeing Echoes in the Mind of the Whale

     

    Seeing Echoes in the Mind of the Whale is a newly imagined, large-scale video installation that explores the sensory world of cetaceans.  It is a celebration of the multitude of life forms that make up our Earth’s oceans. By merging deep listening data, and scientific insight with artistic expression, the artwork aims to create a multisensory experience that not only illustrates but deeply connects audiences with the marine world.

     

    The project seeks to bridge the gap between human perception and the remarkable sensory abilities of whales, particularly their complex relationship with sound. Using vocalisations, whales can navigate great distances, communicate through intricate calls and interact with their environment in ways that extend far beyond human senses.

    Marshmallow Laser Feast will participate in the upcoming group exhibition, Parallel Worlds, at Gazelli Art House in Baku, Azerbaijan. The exhibition aligns with COP29 and will delve into the concept of the interconnected biosphere, inspired by philosopher Timothy Morton.

     

    Showcasing works from their latest body of work, POETICS OF SOIL, this groundbreaking exhibition addresses environmental fragility and offers fresh perspectives on time and space. MLF’s contribution includes three video works and three printed pieces, all of which will be available for purchase as limited Editions through the gallery.

     

    This exhibition represents a significant milestone for Marshmallow Laser Feast as they venture into new territory by presenting their work as limited Editions through a gallery platform.
